Whether you just moved into your home or have lived there for years, renovations do not have to be costly.  Bathrooms are one of the most popular rooms to renovate following kitchen renovations.  There are ways to spruce up your bathroom without breaking the bank.  If you’re not ready for a full bathroom makeover, try some of these ideas.

Statement Mirror

The mirror can be the centerpiece of the room, if you glam it up!  Look for a mirror that is a unique shape or has a stylish frame at a discount furniture store or even a vintage or thrift store.  Make sure your statement mirror is still functional, the reflection is clear, and it’s large enough to see what you need to see.

Wonder Wall

If you don’t want to repaint or repaper the entire bathroom, consider making over just one wall – maybe the wall you hung your statement mirror on?  A fresh coat of paint or fun wallpaper can add depth to the room and improve your space.

More Light

Your statement mirror and wonder wall won’t shine under the wrong lighting.  Bathrooms typically have smaller windows but adding light fixtures can brighten things up and rejuvenate the space.

Upgrade Your Rugs

How long have you had that bathmat?  An aging bathroom rug can bring down the aura of the whole room.  You don’t have to reserve your rug for right outside the shower either!  Multiple bright rugs add texture to the room.

Towels, Shower Curtain, and Hardware

Before investing in a full remodel, see how much new towels, changing the shower curtain, or upgrading the hardware fixes things.  Worn out towels and a dated shower curtain can darken a room.  Upgrading the hardware like door handles, towel racks, wall hooks, and shelves is much cheaper than a new sink or toilet and can significantly dress up the room.

Fancy Floors

Investing new floors can cost as much or as little as you want.  Before you select flooring compare the longevity of low cost alternatives.  You could get your fancy new floor at a fraction of the cost if you do your research!

If you’re not ready for a complete bathroom renovation try some of these low-cost alternatives.  When you are ready, let me know and we can discuss financing options so you can get the most for your money.
