Blog posted On January 18, 2016

Today we honor and celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.

His dedication and determination for the peaceful fight for equality is still remembered today. King, born in January 1929, spent his life leading nonviolent civil disobedience to draw attention to inequality and the push for civil rights. With many historic events tied to his leadership, his life is probably most notable marked by his “I Have a Dream” speech.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day became a United States federal holiday in 1986 where it is still recognized today as a day of remembrance for his work, passion, and dedication to equality.
